BERLIN — School officials came to city council Monday night to request $561,865 in additional funding. Mayor Paul Grenier said he could support giving the schools some additional money but warned it would be far less than requested.

Superintendent of Schools Julie King said school personnel had been under the impression that additional funding would be coming to the school district as a result of the state budget compromise.
