Thompson and Meserves Purchase — A hiker made his way out to the Jefferson Notch Road Sunday morning after becoming lost hiking down the Jewell Trail Saturday evening.

Rescuers searched most of the night and were regrouping to go back out early Sunday morning when a member of the search team happened upon the hiker on the Jefferson Notch.
