CONWAY — A variety of controversial issues, including voter oversight of construction on town property, town funding of an airport in Fryeburg, rental inspections, and more, will be debated by the public and the municipal budget committee tonight (Thursday).

The meeting starts at 6 p.m. at the auditorium of Kennett High School. Some of the warrant articles to be discussed at the hearing were addressed at Tuesday's selectmen's meeting. Articles on the 2025 warrant will not be numbered until Thursday. These articles and more will also be discussed at the deliberative session on March 3.

This is it right here regarding Ch 72 inspections. All dwellings means all dwellings if and when a house ever goes up for sale. Any house for any reason. "Zoning Officer Nicholas DeVito and Planner Ryan O’Connor told the Sun that if there’s a change of ownership or a major renovation (such as adding bedrooms), it would trigger a safety inspection of homes that aren’t rentals." If you try to sell your house, buyers can't waive inspection, can't make inspection decisions for themselves. The town, this town, the two time court loser that can't stop incorrectly going after STRs, that had to pause this crappy inspection program due to constitutional violation concerns, will decide if and how you can sell your home. Spare me what is already required or recommended regarding home sales. Let those norms stand as is without being Frankensteined by town specific, town employee tomfoolery that was only created to go after STRs right after the appeal failed at the Supreme Court. This quote, this aspect of all dwellings has to get out to the people. Forget voting away the property rights of their children and grandchildren. They will be voting away their ability to simply, efficiently and affordably downsize within their own lifetime. Do not let Conway, with no history of inspections on any scale, start this nonsense.
