COOS COUNTY — The date for candidates to file for the two special elections for House seats in Coos County has closed Friday, Oct. 13 and there are contested Republican races in both districts. 

In District 6, which includes the communities of Gorham, Shelburne, and Randolph, Don Lacasse and Michael P. Murphy, both of Gorham, are competing for the Republican nomination. Former state representative Edith Tucker of Randolph is running unopposed on the Democrat ballot.
