BERLIN — The annual Downtown Day of Caring is Friday, May 20, and residents are encouraged to join the volunteer effort to beautify the city’s downtown.

The day has become a spring tradition with people from all walks of life spending a few hours making the downtown attractive for both residents and visitors. For many, the day has become a social event, a chance to get together after a long winter and share some comarderie while raking, pruning, weeding, mulching, and planting.
