COOS COUNTY – It was a good election for Democrats in Coos County Tuesday with the county voting in the blue column for president, U.S. Congress, and governor. The Democratic wave continued with the party taking the state senate seat and a majority of the local state representative seats. The exception to the blue tide was Executive Councilor Raymond Burton who easily beat his Democratic challenger.

Berlin Daily Sun unofficial totals have President Obama defeating Mitt Romney by more than 2,700 votes in Coos County. In the District 2 U.S. Congressional race, Democrat Annie Kuster enjoyed a substantial lead over Republican incumbent Charlie Bass in the rematch of their 2012 race. Bass lost in Berlin despite the endorsement of Berlin Mayor Paul Grenier, who crossed party lines to support him.
