It's been four years since Tri-County Community Action Program acquired Bayview Lodge with a vision that the property could be used as an educational/interpretative center and a tourism training facility.

The center was steadily making progress towards that goal and becoming self-supporting. It operated as a bed and breakfast, offered guided kayak and wildlife tours, and served as the base for a rafting outfitter.
