Obituary: Ernest E. “Brother” Peabody

Ernest E. “Brother” Peabody, 84, passed away on Jan. 17, 2020, after a long illness, two days after his wife, Lillian L. Peabody. Ernest was born in Milan, N.H., on Aug. 23, 1935 to Marion and Raymond Peabody. He was raised in Milan, N.H. by his mother and stepfather Kenneth Douglass. He graduated from Berlin High School and served in Korea with the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

He played baseball in high school and for the Milan Men’s League. He retired from James River Paper Company after 40+ years of service. He was an avid outdoors person enjoying hunting, fishing and vegetable and floral gardening.
