BERLIN — It is a well-known fact that the Catholic community in this area has a rich history as many cultures have lived and prayed in the city of Berlin and surrounding towns. The Good Shepherd and Holy Family Parish currently offers Masses in English with English and Latin Mass settings, but it was not long ago that Mass was also offered in French. Many of the church’s parishioners of French heritage still offer their private prayers in the language of their childhood.

As a way to celebrate one of the cultures, which helped to shape the faith in this area, tonight’s daily Mass (Oct. 2) at St. Anne’s Church in Berlin will be entirely in French, including all the music. All are invited to experience how culture and spirituality allow us to encounter God. Even if you are not fluent in French, all are welcome to attend. Monseigneur Peter Dumont, former Pastor of Guardian Angel Parish in Berlin will offer the Mass in French and hear confessions.
