Thursday evening, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Gorham High School Library, students will be participating in Rock and “Roll”, an evening of music, fun and rolling and wrapping change to help you get it ready for deposit at the local bank of your choice.
Roll Your Change Week is modeled after similar campaigns all across America. The purpose of the event is to bring awareness to savings and to help people realize that anyone can create a savings plan. It can be as easy as putting their extra change into a container at the end of the day and then depositing that change regularly into a savings account. Local financial institutions are making coin wrappers available to their customers free of charge and they are also available at the Family Resource Center in Gorham. Deposits must be made by the close of business on Saturday, October 27, to qualify for the prize drawings.
