PINKHAM’S GRANT — On Wednesday, Oct. 21, at approximately 5:45 p.m., N.H. Fish and Game was notified of an injured hiker on the Glen Ellis Falls Trail. The calling party reported that a 43-year-old woman had fallen on a section of rocky steps and suffered an injury that prevented her from being able to walk out. Conservation officers and volunteers from Androscoggin Valley Search and Rescue responded to the incident.
The hiker, identified as Ieva Lase, 43, of Gauja, Latvia, had been hiking down to view the falls with her husband when she fell. A paramedic with the Androscoggin Valley Search and Rescue was the first rescuer on scene and provided a patient assessment. Several other members of Androscoggin Valley Search and Rescue and a conservation officer hiked down with a rescue litter, but Lase was able to walk back up the trail with assistance.
