EDGEFIELD, S.C. — A wild turkey research project being conducted by New Hampshire Fish and Game will strengthen the department’s decision-making process in managing wild turkey populations using the best available science while balancing social, economic and ecological factors with environmental realities.

Thanks in part to funding provided by the National Wild Turkey Federation through its 2025 investment in wild turkey research, the department has started an innovative research project to investigate wild turkey survival and harvest rates in New Hampshire to produce a more accurate population estimate.
