BERLIN — In February, Berlin High School U.S. History teacher Ted McCormick spent three days attempting to relive World War I battle tactics with his students.

His class was joined by Tammy Watson’s psychology class on the final “Battle Day.” The history students recreated the reality of war on the athletic field near the school, constructing trenches with a hospital and cannon area. Hula Hoops provided “fox-hole” areas to get closer to their enemy.
