On January 26, they began their venture by driving to the base of the mountain and started climbing. They wore their ski boots, and carried their skis and poles. They tracked through the woods until they reached the open area, then continued in the woods to the right along side the ledge area, it was steep at that point and used trees for support. They were not able to climb the snowfields, because it was solid ledge covered by ice and snow, and thus too slippery. They do not recommend trying to slide on a sled or inexperienced skiers trying this. It was snow covered ice ledge with a steep landing. It was a great novelty on skis though.
