BERLIN — The city is not known for its metro bus, subway or commuter rail transit systems yet a new business in Berlin with Canadian roots will manufacture parts of transit structures to meet the needs of public transit in New Jersey, Chicago and beyond.
Baultar Durable Solutions now occupies about 10,000 square feet in a building owned by businessman Robert Chapman on Jericho Road. The company, its corporate headquarters in Quebec, also designs and manufactures floors, seats and accessories “specially designed for the mass transit transportation, rail freight, and architectural markets,” its website posts at baultar.com.
