It has been a long month of travel for me, and I’m happy to say that I’ll be writing this article from “home” by next week. I’m dog sitting in Sandy, Utah, this week for my adorable dog-niece “Lily.” We’re getting along just fine, and she has almost stopped whining about her mom and dad being gone (almost!).

This has been a great experience, though, and I’ve learned a lot — specifically that, until I have a couple acres of back yard with an invisible fence to keep my dogs from running off, I’ll not be getting a dog. Letting her in and out for “water breaks” and walking her around the neighborhood every afternoon is getting old. I’m going to need a more self-sufficient pet. I miss my Remy!
