Local growers send Christmas Trees to cheer U.S. Troops

BETHLEHEM — Earlier this month, New Hampshire’s First Gentleman, Tom Hassan, represented his wife, Governor Maggie Hassan, at the annual Trees for Troops program by helping to load local trees for shipment to military bases across the country. He also cut the ceremonial “first” Christmas tree of the season which will be donated to a local Navy family currently stationed in California.

Christmas trees from 25 growers across New Hampshire and Vermont were collected at the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forest's Rocks Estate Christmas Tree Farm in Bethlehem, as part of a nationwide effort called “Trees for Troops.” This program provides Christmas trees to U.S. military families at home and abroad.
