Caroline Cotter’s latest collection of introspective Americana, Home on the River, captures this bright momentum of a summer journey. The hope, the possibilities and the sense of adventure that accompanies the leaving for a trip; and the wistful longing for the contents of the rear view mirror that strikes the moment you get just a little bit too far from home. 

It seems this travel juju is no accident; Cotter has traveled all over the world, and has toured with her music in 31 countries on five continents (tangential question, though: how does an artist in this day and age afford that much travel?). Lyrically, she explores her roots, family and sense of place in the world on nine introspective mid-tempo acoustic songs and one Woody Guthrie cover.
