Janet Watkins Love, a devoted mother, wife, sister, passed away on November 29, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on November 22, 1933, in Boston, Mass., Janet was the cherished daughter of Charles and Carolyn Gibbons. Janet grew up in Maplewood, N.J., where she graduated from Columbia High School in 1951.
Janet was a graduate of Bouve BostonCollege, earning a degree in Physical Education — an early reflection of her energetic spirit and passion for health and activity. After marrying Howard Stafford Watkins Jr., they welcomed three children — Elizabeth, Thomas, and Carolyn with the family makingtheir home in Bangor, Maine. They latermoved to South Weymouth, Mass., where Janet and the children faced the heartbreaking loss of Howard in 1964 at the age of 29 years old.
