NAPLES — A Cumberland couple suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries Sunday night when their vehicle was struck head on along Route 302 in Naples.

Cumberland County Sheriff’s deputies, along with Naples Fire and Rescue, responded at 7:16 p.m. to Route 302 for a motor vehicle crash. Witnesses reported one operator had immediately run from the scene. Witnesses continued to provide information to the Emergency dispatcher, and the operator — identified as Joshua Morin, 40, of Portland — was located in a yard on Saw Mill Lane. Morin fled to the end of a dock, and refused to surrender himself to deputies for over an hour. A deputy on scene was also a crisis negotiator and eventually Morin gave up peacefully to deputies.
