Citizens of the Year, Virginia and Allan Denison

HARRISON — Inspired by the write up about Susan Searles-Gazza on the inside cover of Harrison’s 2024 Annual Report, Deb Kane asked her fellow Select Board members and the town manager to consider the creation of an annual award for hard-working and often not-recognized citizens. They agreed to the idea and the Harrison Citizen of the Year Award was initiated.

The Citizen of the Year Award recognizes individuals or community groups whose initiatives, leadership, and dedicated efforts have made a significant positive impact on the Town of Harrison and its residents. Note that posthumous nominations are welcomed. This award will be presented annually at the Harrison Annual Town Meeting.
