To The Editor:

I read Wayne E. Rivet’s column entitled, “Taking a new approach.” I am not sure exactly what direction the paper will take in publishing letters from decades long supporters of The Bridgton News. If a letter is factual, doesn’t abuse the Mother tongue with words like Fascist, Nazi, Hitler, Genocide, etc., what will be the restrictions on letter publication? Must the topic be restricted to only positive things for the community; can we not be negative about things that, in our opinion, could be dangerous to the community, the state, the nation, or the world? Are we forbidden to opine about politics, and if not, are we restricted to community, or perhaps Cumberland County, or would it be issues that affect Maine, perhaps as far as New England, the United States, or perhaps the Middle East, Asia, Europe, Africa, or Central/South America?
