BERLIN — Most eighth graders are just figuring out their swing. Mason Johnson Clerkin is launching baseballs over the fence — 325 feet, to be exact — and doing it on a national stage.
The Berlin Middle School student recently returned from the prestigious Cooperstown Dreams Park Tournament No. 6, where he was the only New Hampshire player selected to compete with the Coast to Coast Hurricanes. This team drew talent from across the country, including California, Florida, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts and Maine.
