To the editor:

Sen. Maggie Hassan’s plan to suspend the gas tax is common sense. Gas prices are high, suspending the gas tax temporarily will help families get by during a tough time. I cannot understand why all of her Republican Senate opponents are against this. In New Hampshire, we have always been a low tax state. Do they suddenly not like tax cuts? Are they against families saving money? Clearly they are just opposing this because Hassan is a Democrat.
