To the editor:

There is a story every child learns in school. A father discovers a cherry tree chopped down in his orchard, and when confronted with this fact young George Washington owns up to his misdeed. The story may be a myth but the lesson is important. It gives us something to aspire to, a leader and a person who was honest, willing to admit his mistake, take the consequences and learn from it.
