To the editor:

Del Cain is correct. Lower Main Street and Upper Main Street in Berlin are dilapidated eyesores. As the former owner of a modern boutique and pop culture hub for art, authors and music, I watched as visitors to Lower Main St. would park and walk under windows hanging onto their sashes by a thin thread, even witnessing the glass topple onto the sidewalk from the multi-storied, rotting behemoth. Four years of looking out of my beautiful windows at an architectural abomination of neglect does not inspire a feeing of uplift or innovation. In fact, it was the opposite.
