Donald Trump’s election as president of this country has left me deeply disturbed. My pre-election research had revealed him as a man I could not trust. A majority of my countrymen clearly feel otherwise. I truly hope that they are right, and I am wrong. But, as I write this , I am deeply concerned about the future of my country over the next four years.

As Trump assembles his cabinet, we will soon know where his priorities truly lie. His admiration for Vladimir Putin, Russia’s president, raises alarm bells in my mind, as does his seeming disdain for Mexico. Clearly, Donald Trump is no fan of science, nor is he of environmentalism. This country may well find itself falling farther and farther behind those who embrace both.
