Before you gas up the car and head south for your holiday shopping, consider staying home and spending your money locally this weekend. More than 30 Gorham merchants are extending their hours today and tomorrow for holiday shoppers.

Betty Newton, co-owner of Crack “L” Berry Crafts and Supplies, helped organize the event along with her husband Scott and several other Gorham business owners. The aim, she said, was to promote the local economy while saving shoppers time, gas and money.
