BERLIN – Demolition of the remaining 20 properties slated for removal as part of the Route 110 upgrade is scheduled to get underway in late September. Don Lyford, project manager for the N.H. Department of Transportation, said all of the demolition work should be completed by the end of this year.

At their meeting Wednesday, the Governor and Executive Council authorized DOT to enter into a contract with Jay-Mor Enterprises Inc., of Pelham to demolish the 20 buildings. Lyford said Jay-Mor’s bid of $341,100 was the low bid for the work. He said about five companies bid on the project. The executive council also approved a $17,055 contingency fund to cover any latent issues that may arise during the demolition.
