LANCASTER — Having served as Assistant County Attorney for the past five years, John McCormick of Lancaster, feels he is best qualified to step into the role of County Attorney moving forward. "I know the job," McCormick said.

He is running for the seat on the Democratic ticket, against newcomer, Republican Phillip Beiner (pronounced Bye-ner) of Whitefield. The post has been vacated by Robert Mekeel, who not only decided not to run for reelection, but also tendered his resignation with the County Commission effective Nov. 7.
