BERLIN — A large crowd of gun-rights advocates asked the Coos County delegation Friday to declare the county a Second Amendment Sanctuary County.

Speaking for the group, Robert Larson of Lancaster handed the delegation what he called a “peoples' resolution” that would prohibit the Coos County Sheriff’s department from enforcing any “unlawful law or act” dealing with personal firearms, firearm accessories or ammunition. The resolution argues local governments have the right to refuse state and federal firearm laws that violate the second amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
