A ban on short term rentals will do nothing to meet the need of affordable housing. A ban on short term rentals will impact local businesses negatively. A ban on short term rentals will raise taxes . Why ? Because you will have more full time residents who use the place 365 days a year 24/7 most likely retirees From mass let’s face it . What folks need is affordable apartments . The longer this political witch hunt continues the more the town will become divided and lawsuits cost real money. But mostly it wastes time and energy and the people who need housing suffer while time is being wasted . I don’t care , don’t own an str but curious to see as we head into an economic down turn what the real impact will be . Fuel is expensive, everything is expensive now and just going up and up , but the town wants to wage economic war on its town tax payers . Maybe it makes a good sound bite or whatever. But until new industry’s are created Conway is a tourist town . Big hotels will suck up all the money with in house dining, gift shops , ski and bike rentals. Business will suffer . Be careful what you wish for the results may not be what the town expects. We will see who’s for property rights and freedom and who is not .
