City approves new contract for Berlin police

BERLIN — A new, three-year contract for the Berlin Police Department union is now in effect, after months of negotiation between the Berlin Police Commission and the department’s union, AFSCME Local 3657.

Salary increases for union members will rise beginning fiscal year 2026, which began July 1. The raise will be 2.50 percent in the contract’s first year (fiscal year 2026), 2.79 percent in fiscal year 2027 and 3.14 percent in fiscal year 2028.
