SHELBURNE — The heavy snow from last week’s snowstorm caused the roof to collapse on the Aston-Lessard barn on Thursday, ending a couple’s efforts to save the piece of local history.

At one time, the barn served as a dance hall that attracted such Big Band era names as Louise Prima, Bob Crosby (brother of Bing), Jimmy Dorsey and Rosemary Clooney to this small village.
