BERLIN — City councilors on voice vote approved three resolutions Monday night that will allow the police commission to apply for homeland security grants and if received, accept them for the city’s police department.

The amounts are $9,000 for the purchase of a mobile repeater (Resolution 2026-16) and $91,000 for the purchase of long-range acoustic hailing equipment (Resolution 2026-17) both via a N.H. Competitive State Homeland Security grant. And, $8,703 for the purchase of mechanical and manual breaching equipment and infrared illuminators with a N.H. Homeland Security NHTOA grant (Resolution 2026-18).
