BERLIN — City councilors reviewed a request to do something to memorialize a longtime community volunteer Jim Couhie, who died in November of 2024. While they discussed the possibility of placing a memorial bench on city property, they made no decision about spending money on such a project.

Mayor Robert Cone said during the council meeting Monday that he had received from educator and middle school field hockey coach Aisha Rai Vien about the passing last November of community volunteer Jim Couhie.
