CONCORD — The Executive Council last month approved a 50-year lease between the New Hampshire Air National Guard and the Berlin Airport Authority.

Given that the approval was granted despite an overwhelming — though nonbinding — vote against it at town meeting in Milan, the town in which the Berlin Airport is located, District 1 Executive Councilor Joe Kenney (R-Wakefield) recommended adding more Milan members to the airport authority to keep the lines of communication open between Milan residents and the N.H. Air National Guard.
