ALBANY — On Sept. 15 from 10 a.m. to noon, a Tin Mountain naturalist will lead hikes at their Jackson Field Station property. They will explain the historic use of the property, help identify plant species, and point out animal signs. Highlights include the summit of Tin Mountain, a tin mine on the property, and historic homestead, and a mountain pond.

Guided hikes are conducted every Thursday in September, and are a great way to explore the lesser trod trails of the White Mountains and avoid crowds. Participants of all ages are welcome and reservations are required. Register online at tinmountain.org or call (603) 447-6991. The cost for non-members is $15 per person or $25 per household.
