BERLIN — Thursday morning storytime at Berlin Public Library starts on Oct. 18 at 10:30 a.m. with a visit from Donna Weiss from the United States Forest Service. She will read “From Tree to Tree House, Chip and Emily’s Magic Flume Ride”, a new book from the National Forest Foundation. At this storytime, young readers will learn how trees grow, are harvested, milled, eventually end up in lumber yards and turn into things we use every day. An interactive game will follow the reading.
On Thursday, Oct. 20, Gail Gettens, Child Development Specialist with N.H. Division of Public Health Services and co-author of “Happy, Healthy Lead-Free Me!” will be visiting storytime to read her book. A free copy of the book will be given to all who attend. Children will also receive a gift bag with crayons and an activity coloring book about how to keep lead safe at home. Free 3M LeadCheck Swabs will be available to adults who attend.
