The Rev. Eleanor McLaughlin, 90, of Randolph, N.H., passed away on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025, at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, N.H., after a period of failing health.Â
She was born in Boston, Mass., and raised in Beverly, Mass., graduating from St. Mary's in the Mountains School and going on to attend Wellesley College, graduating with a BA in History. She furthered her education by attending Radcliff College where she graduated with a PhD in Medieval Church History, receiving two Fulbright Fellowships. She worked as a Professor of History at Wellesley College and later was a professor at Andover Newton Seminary in Newton, Mass., teaching the history of the liturgy, of the early church, and the valuable spiritual role of women throughout the Church’s history.
