RANDOLPH — Longtime Mountain Rescue Service member Paul Cormier hosted a screening Nov. 1 of “109 Degrees Below,” a 14-minute documentary that shows the harshness of winter weather on Mount Washington and what happens when climbers tempt fate under its fierce conditions.

Cormier, a Randolph resident who also is a wilderness first responder, oversaw the program sponsored by the Randolph Public Library, where about 63 people learned about the death 42 years ago of a rescuer who was searching for two lost hikers on the highest peak in the Northeast.
