Scholar starts library's celebration of the nation's 250th

BERLIN — The North Country Librarians announce the winter/spring lecture series for 2026 with the theme “Notable NH: 250 Years in the Making,” focusing on the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the American Revolution, and some of the New Hampshire personalities who played important roles. The series will consist of four programs running from Feb. 4 through May 7. 

The first program, “African American Soldiers and Sailors of New Hampshire During the American Revolution,” will be presented via Zoom on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 6 p.m., with watch parties at both the Fortier Library at the White Mountains Community College in Berlin and the Randolph Public Library.
