Command Sergeant Major Hoopy Qualls honored for achievements

 

On Nov. 19, Command Sergeant Major Hoopy Qualls, U.S. Army, retired, was honored at a ceremony at Fort Bragg, N.C., where he received a medal as a distinguished member of the Special Forces Regiment.

CSM Qualls joined the U.S. Army in June, 1971 after graduating from Gorham High School. Trained as a 91B combat medic, he served in the 1/320th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, N.C., until June 1973 where he was reassigned to the 46th Surgical Unit, Fort Devens, Mass.
