Bridgton Highlands hosted its final tennis tournament of the summer on Saturday, Sept. 13. The Laver Cup, which is inspired by the men’s professional tournament also held every September, contains players competing for Team Europe and Team World, respectively. While the pro tournament is played over three days, Bridgton Highlands’ version of the Laver Cup is held over three rounds.
Team Europe jumped off to a commanding lead after Round One, but Team World responded by winning more matches in the second round. The third round went to Team Europe, defeating the defending champions.
