Sheriff Kevin Joyce

MAKING HIS PITCH — Cumberland County Sheriff Kevin Joyce answers questions about response time as Harrison citizens weighed whether to continue to pay two contract deputies to cover the town, or reduce to one at last week’s annual town meeting. A compelling story by one resident may have convinced some as voters decided to stay the course with two.                     (Rivet Photo)

HARRISON — Like many citizens, Jennifer Vane wondered whether saving over $107,000 by reducing Harrison’s contract with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office from two full-time deputies to one was worth it.
