Ignorance and Hubris

To The Editor:

Interestingly, Wilson’s and the progressives (including Teddy Roosevelt) theory that, if something isn’t forbidden, by the Constitution, government has the right to take control over it. This progressive theory totally changes the Constitution’s protecting the people from an overreaching government into government having the ability to expand at will and overreach its authority without benefit of permission from the American people by way of an Amendment as required by the Constitution which instituted government “...of the people, by the people, and for the people…” (Abraham Lincoln). The ignorance of the Constitution, on the part of the progressives in legislation, lawyering, judging, and interpretation of the law, is unbounded.
