The Fanfare Concert Band will present the final concert of their summer series in the Casco Days Park tonight, Thursday, August 27 at 6 p.m. Please note the earlier starting time because of the shorter days. Bring a chair or blanket for comfortable seating.

This will be a very special concert dedicated to the memory of Bob Travis from Casco, who was a member of the Fanfare Band. In addition to notable achievements in his career as a software engineer, which were called technologically brilliant and innovative, Bob had a lifelong love of music and encouraged many other musicians. Fanfare Director Stan Buchanan says that Bob was the best example of why community bands are so important. After retirement Bob contributed his talents on the baritone horn to several community bands, including the Bridgton Community Band, Westbrook City Band, Maine Pops Concert Band and the low brass ensemble, Low Commotion. This group will perform with the Fanfare Band in the Aug. 27 concert.
