BERLIN — Wednesday, Feb. 5 was Senior Night for the Berlin-Gorham-Kennett Girls Mountaineers Hockey Team. Seniors Marina Santy, Emma Guilbeault, Gabby Poulin, and Laney Downs were honored for their dedication and teamwork as part of the hockey team. Gabby Poulin set the tone for the night with a heartfelt rendition of the National Anthem.
At 6 p.m., the Mountaineers faced off against the Concord Crimson Tide at the Notre Dame Arena. In the first period, Concord scored at 6:49 when Claire Brown was assisted by Abby Colby. At 5:59, Abby Colby was assisted by Brooke Nelson then at 5:08, Claire Brown was assisted by Amelia Raimo and Addison Twyon. Concord scored again when Brooke Nelson was unassisted. Berlin struggled to contain Concord’s fast-paced offense and the score at the end of the first period was 4-0.
