CONCORD — New Hampshire Fish and Game responded to a pair of distressed hikers at opposite ends of the state Wednesday with rescues on Mount Monadnock in Jaffrey and Mount Madison in Pinkham Notch. A Massachusetts teen had to be airlifted by helicopter to the University of Massachusetts Medical Center after sustaining a head injury.

According to releases from Fish and Game, on Wednesday afternoon on Mount Monadnock, Lillian McPherson, 19, of Auburn, Mass., was descending the White Cross Trail with a group from Monadnock Bible Conference of Jaffrey, where she is a counselor.
