BERLIN — The recent rash of school shootings and devastating loss of young student lives has everyone nervous amid fears that no school is immune from such violence but a recent report that raised alarms at Berlin schools and the police department was quickly investigated and found not to be a threat.

A student reported to Berlin school officials Tuesday morning that two men with rifles had been seen walking on side streets near the Berlin Elementary School.
